Our hope is that, through the Yard, our local community would experience the love of Jesus in a practical and tangible way
What is it?
The Yard is our ministry space on the Ashburton estate in Putney and our base for a range of community-focused initiatives.
In response to Government Guidance we have suspended all initiatives at the Yard excluding Foodbank.
FOODBANK at the Yard is open for those with vouchers:
Wednesdays 10am - 2:15pm [Foodbank & CAB advice services]
Sundays 2pm - 4pm [Foodbank]
Foodbank normally runs on Wednesdays 10am - 12pm & Sundays 2pm - 4pm at The Yard
Foodbank provides a minimum of three days' emergency food and support to people in crisis
What is it?
At present Wandsworth Foodbank remains open but Foodbank deliveries are being made centrally.
Foodbank runs on Wednesdays 10am - 12pm & Sundays 2pm - 4pm at The Yard.
Do get in touch if you have any questions.
We would ask that any guests visiting the Yard adhered to physical distancing regulations and government guidance.
We apologise for any inconvenience that this causes but we want to do all we can to keep providing this vital service to the community for as long as possible.

Due to COVID restrictions Job Club us currently on hold
The Job Club provides free one to one support to anyone who is unemployed or under-employed as they go through the process of finding work
What is it?
Our Job Club is normally open from 12.30pm to 3pm on Tuesdays. Guests receive one to one coaching and help with CVs, job searches or interview practice, as well as the opportunity to use an internet-connected laptop for free. We provide free hot lunches and unlimited coffee. We love helping people back into work - but, often just as importantly, we help people rebuild their confidence and get their lives back on track.
How to make an enquiry
To enquire about Job Club please telephone the church office on 020 8785 9530 during office hours (9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday). We normally run appointments at 12:30pm and 1:45pm. All appointments last 75 minutes and take place at The Yard, 401-403 Tildesley Road, Putney, SW15 3BD. Click here to see where The Yard is on a map.

Extending God's kingdom to the environment
What We're Doing
As a local Vineyard church, we are called to extend God’s kingdom together, everywhere, in every way. As followers of Jesus, our mandate is to love & serve God, love & serve our neighbours and love & serve the world in which we live. A key element of that mandate involves extending God’s kingdom to the environment.
We are delighted to see how many of the congregation bring their own reusable cups regularly on a Sunday and, to encourage us all to make this positive step, a range of reusable cups are available for purchase on a Sunday. These cups, which normally retail between £10-£13 will be available to buy at a special discounted price of £5.00.
Over the next few months we will have a range of both rCup and Stojo cups available for purchase, alongside the use of china mugs. We will keep a supply of compostable cups available for use, but once we have run out we will not be replacing them.
This move works alongside our existing efforts as a church to minimise our environmental impact both as a church and as individuals:
- For some time, our coffee has been supplied by the direct trade company Ethical Addictions, who pride themselves on better than Fair Trade conditions for their farmers and suppliers.
- All our Sunday Team T-Shirts are supplied by Rapanui, an Organic Farmed Cotton supplier.
- Where possible food & drinks are FairTrade and we are constantly looking at different product ranges to improve on this wherever we can.
- Working in partnership with bio-bean, an award-winning clean technology company, we are now recycling all used coffee grounds. These are then turned into a range of biofuels and biochemicals, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and displacing conventional fossil fuels.
'But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.' Acts 1:8
Whether near, local or far, we have been called to extend God's Kingdom together, everywhere, in every way
We work in partnership with Tearfund as part of their Connected Church initiative, focussing on mission to both Nepal and India. Much of this work is to support organisations on the ground in both Nepal and India as they develop educational programmes in the prevention of trafficking across the region.
We are also looking to explore potential partnerships with Vineyard churches in Myanmar, Denmark and Spain, as together we seek to eradicate trafficking in all its forms and partner with the local church in their work in their local communities.
South West London Vineyard is also working alongside and serving The Lunchbowl Network & The Angel Kindergarten in Kibera, Nairobi. These charities serve local families and children who endure the harsh reality of life in Kibera including lack of access to clean water, very poor sanitation compounded by an inadequate education that causes them to be severely disadvantaged. They provide a dinner programme, education for 120 Kiberan children aged 3-8 and primary education for 330 children aged 4-13. Every Sunday they provide food for 250 children from Kibera who attend King's Rugby Development Academy, which provides healthy role models via positive coaching and peer relationships, creating an alternative for the youth of Kibera to avoid the descent into antisocial behaviour.
