If you are visiting, looking for a church to call home or exploring faith, we are so glad you dropped by. We really hope you find us a welcoming bunch and you find everything you need here. We want to do all we can to help connect you to the life of the church here.
We’ve been on the Pastoral Staff Team here at SWLV for over 30 years, and in 2008 took on the role of Senior Pastors from John and Eleanor Mumford, who planted the church in 1987.
As a church, our heart is to respond to Jesus’ words from Matthew 22 and 28 – the Greatest Commandment, ‘to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and strength and to love your neighbour as yourself’ – and the Great Commission ‘…go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded and surely I am with you to the very end of the age’
When we passionately pursue Jesus, when we love God in everything and with everything, we believe everything in Matthew 28 becomes the natural overflow. We hope that you will join us on the journey.
We’d love to connect with you so do feel free to fill out a Connect Card and we’ll be in touch
As always,
Senior Pastors
From Foodbank and Football, to Exploring Faith and Youth, there are so many ways to find community and purpose. Here are a few next steps. What might yours be?
Everyone is welcome
Gathering together helps to build us up and sharpens our faith as we learn from one another and worship together as a family of believers.
If you are uncertain about your relationship with God, or you have not experienced the love of His Son, Jesus Christ, come and find out more about Jesus.
Small groups gather midweek for bible study, prayer, friendship and to share our lives with one another. Being part of a Small Group is integral to the life of the church.
As we don’t have our own building, there are always plenty of opportunities to help out, which is a great way to feel part of things.
Spirituality cannot be separated from generosity and the teachings of Jesus compel us to give of our finances to those in need.
Stories connect us. We think it’s important to keep sharing our stories from small moments of what God is saying, to beautiful healing stories, and everything in between.
