Foodbank at the Yard opens 22 September (10am - 12:30pm)
WHAT IS THE YARD?
The Yard is our ministry space on the Ashburton estate in Putney and our base for a range of community-focused initiatives.
WHERE IS IT?
401 - 403 Tildesley Road, Putney, SW15 3BD
At present, we are still only able to run a limited range of ministries from The Yard, and Foodbank opens again on Wednesday 22 September.
There are still plenty of ways to get involved so that we can be a blessing to those around us.
You can find out more in the sections below.
Foodbank at the Yard is open again on Wednesdays (10am - 12:30pm)
We’re delighted to be re-opening our face-to-face Foodbank from the Yard from 10am - 12:30pm on Wednesday 22 September, after almost 18 months of delivering emergency food to people’s doorsteps. Wandsworth Foodbank has delivered more than 16,000 emergency food supplies across Wandsworth borough during the pandemic.
We’re really looking forward to welcoming people back to the Yard on Wednesdays between 10 & 12:30pm to get the immediate practical help they need in terms of emergency food and essential toiletries. You'll also have the chance to chat with our friendly, trained volunteers about the difficulties people are facing and what help is available.
Our foodbank advisers will be available to offer expert advice to help people resolve the some of the problems that are causing financial hardship and foodbank need – most commonly around benefit payments, for instance when people have lost jobs or hours, or are too unwell to work.
If you’re facing severe financial hardship and need help and support, please visit the Foodbank Get Help page to find out how we can help. You’ll also find information about Wandsworth Council’s support grants for residents in hardship, which we recommend applying for. They’re grants not loans, so you won’t need to pay them back.
For further information about our re-opening of centres, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone us 020 7326 9428.

Welcoming Refugees & Asylum Seekers
'I was a stranger and you invited me in' Matt 25:35
Through our community centre, The Yard, our hope, as a local church, in partnership with others, is to tackle issues of immigration and make a positive difference to refugees & those seeking asylum.
As a first step towards this, SW London Vineyard has joined with the Welcome Churches network as we seek to love and welcome the stranger, whatever their cultural background.
Welcome Churches’ vision is to see No Refugee Alone. They partner with local churches to help welcome refugees and asylum seekers to their local community.
You can find out more information about the work of Welcome Churches here:
If you, or anyone you know, are a refugee or asylum seeker, we would love to connect with you and extend you a warm welcome, so please do get in touch firstname.lastname@example.org. We would love to hear from you and help support you in whatever ways we can.
