Each week kicks off with a short film followed by a discussion where you can share your thoughts with an online small group.

Who Is Jesus?

We believe that Jesus is the hope for our broken world. What do you think?

For some, Jesus divides opinion but it’s safe to say that he is not quite what people expected. It is astounding that a homeless, refugee carpenter from a small, insignificant town in the Middle East has become the most important person in history. There are more books, paintings, songs and poetry about him than any other person.

At South West London Vineyard, Jesus is central to our understanding of what it means to be a Christian and how we live our everyday lives. For us, answering the question, ‘Who is Jesus?’ is the most important thing you will do in your life.

One of the best ways to find out more about Jesus is through Alpha. Check out more information about it below.

Stories Of Coming To Faith

What difference does Jesus make to our lives?

Sadie's Story

I first met Jesus personally when a good friend invited me along to a youth camp when I was a teenager. God became a bigger part of my life when I joined a Vineyard church when I moved to university. The biggest difference knowing Jesus has made for me is knowing that I have an identity in him - I am known and loved by God, who has made me uniquely and purposefully.

Howard's Story

I did not have an epiphany moment, but I came to know Jesus over a period of reflection, questioning and prayer. I'd always supported my wife, Steph, and loved the girls going to church, so started attending some more. During worship and prayer, I soon started getting ideas and messages to guide my life. One Sunday, one of the girls quizzed me at the dinner table saying, 'Come on Dad, do you believe in God?' 'Of course I do,' I said - apparently to everyone's surprise. Being loved by Jesus gives me a new and richer sense of what my life is about, and a deeper sense of hope and belonging. Life still throws big challenges, which can generate stress, but I no longer try to solve every problem myself and no longer measure myself against a secular scorecard. I've discovered a deeper sense of belief, have deeper roots and have a relationship with Jesus that really guides my life.

Ben's Story

I was brought up in a Christian family but only really met Jesus properly a few years ago, at a youth weekend away. I didn't really get it all at the time so I asked one of the leaders and they explained how to ask Jesus into my heart. I am more confident now - I don't worry as much when I make mistakes. Instead of being overly self-critical, I can pray about it. I try to read the Bible every day, even if I don't always understand it.

Our Story

Who we are and where we're from

Our History

South West London Vineyard started with a small group of people in 1987 who wanted to see how following Jesus could make a difference, not only to their lives, but also to the lives of the people in the city around them.

As the church grew, it began planting other churches, which in turn planted other churches, and we are proud to be a part of a still-growing movement of Vineyard churches across the UK and Ireland.

Our Vision

God has called us to make, train and equip disciples, who love and serve Jesus, who love and serve one another and love and serve their neighbours.

God has called us to be the church across SW London through central celebration and local mission.

God has called us to plant churches across the capital by training and equipping potential church planters and sending and nurturing those called by God.

By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
