VKids is back in-person every Sunday morning at the Ark Putney Academy! Over the Summer we will be running a Summer VKids Programme, read on to find out more.

To help us with our planning and in order to comply with our booking at the ARK we will need to maintain details of attendees to assist with Track & Trace and so if you're hoping to join us do please sign yourselves and your children up using link below:

VKids (ages 0-2yrs old)

We are excited to include our 0-2s in the provision over the Summer as you and they transition back or for the first time (!) to the Ark.

You are welcome to bring your child into the main hall during the Sunday service 10.30am -11.15am, where there will be an area dedicated for you and this age group.

We will also have a room just off the foyer, named the Baby Room, with toys and seating will be made available in the main building from 10.15am-11.30am for parents and carers to access with their little ones as and when they would like to; and between 11:00-11:10am we will be leading some worship, a story and prayer for that age group and their parents and carers in that room.

At this time, we ask that parents and carers provide snacks and water for their children and themselves (as we meet in a school, we ask that there are no nuts).

VKids (ages 2yrs old plus)

In order to help our children transition back, we have asked EzeeSport to come alongside us to provide some active structured play and sport as our children get used to being back together and to allow our VKids team to come back first to worshiping together before they step in to serve. Similarly, we are looking forward to worshipping and having some teaching/story/reflection and ministry time with our children. Again to help the children transition, this will be very much a continuation of the themes we have been doing in VKids at Home and on Zoom and predominately led by Manny & Sinead and the small team who have been with us on Zoom over the last 9 months.

  • check-in for children will be in front of the Sports Hall doors or at on the 3G pitch (please look for the VKids flags), check-in will be open at 10:15am, please keep to the outside of the buildings as you make your way to either of these check-out areas;
  • between 10:30-10:45am the children will worship together, then split into a younger group (pre-school) and an older group (primary school age) for a short time of teaching/story/reflection;
  • from 10:45-11:15 our friends at Ezeesport will be leading multisport activities and games; and
  • children will be checked out from either the 3G pitch or from outside of the Sports Hall doors (this will be weather dependant and we will let you know at check-in) at 11.15am (11:25am at the latest please).

At this time, we ask that parents and carers provide snacks and water for their children (as we meet in a school, we ask that there are no nuts).

With the primary school aged kids we are continuing throughout the summer with the Imaginative Prayer course we have been going through in our Zoom sessions.

We believe this is a wonderful resource to help build our children's connection with God and spiritual formation, but also one which is intended to give parents tools to really engage with the life of faith with their child(ren). In other words this is something whole families can benefit from, in fact children will get more out if the course if parents engage with it too.

In this clip the author of the course expresses something that has been at the heart of what we have been doing through the pandemic, of the huge benefit to our kids to growing in faith with us as parents and carers journeying alongside them. What we think we have in the Imaginative Prayer course is one of the best tools we have found for that purpose.

We recognise, that for whatever reason not all our families will be able to join us in-person on any given Sunday. However, although we can't meet together physically, we are meeting together on Zoom each Sunday morning!

Please can we encourage you as a family to continue your faith journeys together. If your children are under 5 you might want to buy and read together a book we use: Stories Jesus Told by Nick Butterworth and Mick Inkpen. If you children are older, you may want to consider doing the Imaginative Prayer Course with your kids in your own time, see details above. Get in touch with Manny and Sinead if you need access to the course.

We would also love our kids to continue their journey of worshipping God!

Here're some VKids worship sets for you and your kids to worship along to! They are labelled Studio which is aimed more at pre-school kids and Gym - aimed more at Primary age kids, but all them are fun for everyone!

We also have Spotify playlists for the Studio (for babies too) and Gym (click on the words to link through to the playlists).

You should be able to find the lyrics for all the songs online, you could learn the songs with your kids and have a worship session together - you could even create your own family actions?!?

Other resources

Vineyard Churches have produced a couple of sets of resources which we have been encouraging parents to use:

If you have any questions, prayer requests or stories do get in touch!

Much love.
